Are Veneers the Right Way to Cover Your Dental Imperfections?

Posted on 12/20/2019 by PCCD Office
Are Veneers the Right Way to Cover Your Dental Imperfections? Are you happy when you look in the mirror at your smile? A lot of us aren't. At least a quarter of Americans would change at least one thing with their smiles.

If you're one of those people, we have some information for you about veneers. Using veneers may be a way to help you get the smile you wanted.

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain that are cemented onto your natural teeth using dental cement. Veneers were actually created a century ago for people who worked in movies, and needed costume teeth. The actors were so pleased with veneers they asked the dentist to make them veneers to cover up flaws in their natural teeth. Veneers have been improving people's smiles ever since.

What Can Veneers Do?

Veneers can help fix a variety of problems with your teeth. First, veneers can cover cracked or broken teeth by covering them up. Veneers can also be used to cover teeth that are misshapen due to childhood dental issues. Veneers cover poorly spaced teeth as well. If you have teeth that are discolored due to an injury or because of medications that you took to combat an illness, we can use veneers for those as well. In fact, veneers can cover up all of those issues- at the same time.

You need to know that while veneers are amazing, they are not foolproof. You will need to care for your veneers. Be careful chewing hard, crunchy foods. Also, if you play sports, wear a guard to protect your veneers from damage. If you care for your veneers, they will care for you with a beautiful smile for life. Do you have questions about veneers? We have answers! Why not give us a call, and let us talk to you about our amazing veneers.
